Happy Father's Day!

Father's Day is a celebration which started in the early 20th century to complement Mother's Day in celebrating fatherhood and male parenting, and to honor and remember all fathers. The date of its celebration varies worldwide and usually involves gift-giving to fathers and family-oriented activities. This year it will be celebrated on June 15th in most countries, including the Philippines.
My husband's experience of a first-time dad started on the day that we confirmed that I am pregnant. He accompanied me on my very first pre-natal check-up, bought my natal supplements, and even my first maternity dress. He has also withdrawn his overseas job application just to be with me and waited until lovely Yasmin Althea is born. He is hardworking and a good provider. We really appreciate everything that you do for our family. We love you so much, Papa!
On the other hand, I terribly miss my father right at this very moment. He passed away last March 13, 2000. I regret that I wasn't at his side during the last few years of his life. Nevertheless, I will always thank him for letting me experience a wonderful childhood, for the countless PTA meetings attended during my elementary and high school days, and for the values instilled in me and my siblings. Recounting the days, he was a conscientious farm worker then. I miss you, Papa Nolding!

To all the fathers out there, ADVANCE HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!

P.S. Special thanks to my friend, Lolit who sent the image used in this article.
